Call for applications - Editor-in-Chief

Dear colleagues,

The Executive Council of the Association of Geomorphologists in Romania launches a call for applications for the appointment of a new Editor-in-Chief for Revista de Geomorfologie.

The journal has been operating since 2016 in an Open Access system through the voluntary activity of the Editor-In-Chief and the members of the editorial team and through the efforts of the Guest Editors, and the requirements to maintain and develop the existing indexations demand continuity and efficient management in terms of editorial planning.

The editorial team of the journal for 2022 will operate in 2022 according to the following proposed structure:

Editor-in-Chief (permanent)

Guest Editor

Editorial Board (may undergo changes/reshuffles depending on the quality of the activity and involvement of the members)

Technical board: Journal Manager, Copyeditor, Proof-readers, Layout Editor (permanent)

The Editor-in-Chief will have an educational background and a stage of the activity relevant to the field of geomorphology (senior researcher or equivalent), will be a good connoisseur of specialized literature, with related relationships in the geomorphological and geographical community at national / regional / international level. Also, the status of Editor/Reviewer in international journals is an aspect that confers additional legitimacy to the candidate, and membership in a profile group/association is also appreciated.

We invite you, therefore, to express your interest by sending between 1-31 January 2022 a CV (max. one page, containing relevant information in this context) and an intention letter (max. one page) in which the applicant describes the actions he/she is aiming at as Chief Editor and how he/she proposes to get involved in the evolution of the Journal of Geomorphology. Please contact us at the address

The initial selection, which involves the verification of the applications, will be made at the meeting of the Executive Council of AGR in February 2022 (phase 1), the candidates being subsequently invited to an interview (phase 2), and by the end of February a new Editor-in-Chief will be appointed. The members of the Association will be informed about the development of the selection process through the discussion group.
